Custom challenge coins

Custom challenge coins, made from your own insignia

We cut a die from your unit insignia, station emblem, or company logo, then finish it with plating and enamel. Coins run on the same tooling and the same line as our medals, so a coin, a medal, and a pin can share one artwork and one order.

What we produce

Military unit coins

Unit insignia, motto, and activation year struck into a coin — made for retirements, commendations, and unit visits. Insignia on the obverse and text on the reverse is the most common layout.

Fire & police coins

Station or precinct emblems with service and commendation text. Cut-out edges can follow the emblem silhouette instead of a plain circle.

Corporate award coins

Anniversaries, project milestones, and long-service awards. Paired with a case or velvet pouch it becomes a complete award package.

Club & event coins

Participation and finisher coins for running crews, clubs, and challenge events. Can share artwork with a medal for a matching set.

Specifications

Base form
Round by default; shield, emblem, and other custom cut-out outlines are available.
Material & plating
Die-cast zinc alloy or brass, with gold, silver, copper, nickel, or antique plating.
Colour finish
Soft enamel (recessed colour), hard enamel (polished flush), or UV printing — in matte or gloss.
Relief
From flat 2D engraving to 3D relief. The obverse and reverse can carry different artwork.
Edge
Plain, rope, knurled (reeded), or engraved edges.
Serial numbering
Sequential serial engraving plus individual case or pouch packing as an add-on.

These options combine freely. If you are not sure which combination fits, just tell us what the coin is for.

Finish examples from the same process

The photos below are custom medals made with the same die, plating, and enamel process. Coins take the same finishes.

Coin design examples by use case

AI-generated coin design references. Final artwork is redesigned around the files you send; the emblems shown here are generic examples and are not tied to any real unit, agency, or company.

How it works

  1. 1. Enquiry & artwork

Send an insignia file, a sketch, or a reference image — we confirm feasibility before anything else.

  2. 2. Proof & quotation

We return obverse/reverse proofs and a quotation reflecting plating, enamel, and edge options. Unit price varies with quantity and finish.

  3. 3. Die & sample

Once artwork is approved we cut the die. On request we produce a pre-production sample so plating and enamel colours can be checked first.

  4. 4. Production, finishing & delivery

After the run we handle serial engraving and individual packing, then ship. Production time depends on quantity and finishing steps and is confirmed with your quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Are a commemorative coin, a unit coin, and a challenge coin different?

They are the same product. In Korea it is usually called a commemorative or unit coin; internationally it is a challenge coin. The manufacturing process is identical.

Can we use our unit insignia as-is?

We reproduce the artwork you supply. Confirming that you hold the right to use that insignia or logo remains with you as the customer.

Can coins and medals be produced together?

Yes. Sharing one artwork across a coin, a medal, and a pin is common, and lanyards or certificates can be produced in the same order.

Do you supply cases and packaging?

Acrylic capsules, velvet pouches, and paper or plastic cases are available as individual packing. Mention your packaging preference when requesting a quote.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Tell us the destination country and quantity and we will include the shipping method and cost in your quotation.

You do not need finished artwork

A photo of the insignia, a sketch, or a reference image is enough for us to start the proof with you.

Leave your email and a line about your project. We reply with pricing, plating and enamel options, and the production schedule.

Default is 70mm diameter and 3mm thickness. Adjust if needed.
